We were blessed with absolutely beautiful autumnal weather last week for our English lesson at Manor Barn. Year 2 walked across the footbridge (waving at the cars as we went) to the stunning gardens. We were thinking autumnal thoughts and collecting nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs for the children’s poems about Autumn. The children were impeccably well behaved and worked really hard for the hour we were out and came back to school brimming with ideas for their poems. We hope that you enjoy reading our poems as much as we enjoyed writing them!
It was Year Two’s turn for a ‘Woofy Wellbeing’ session with Milo the dog yesterday!
Yesterday morning, a very excited Year 2 visited Pizza Express in Eastbourne to find out more about where foods come from and take part in a cooking session. When we arrived, the children all donned hats and aprons and washed their hands. The first part of our session was looking at many popular ingredients, discussing where they come from and having lots of little tastes. I was surprised at the number of children this year that liked the olives and anchovies! The children were all eager to try many of the foods and there weren’t many samples left over after the tasting session. The children very confidently followed the chef’s instructions and made their own pizzas which they all enjoyed for lunch, back at school. The pizzas were delicious and there was enough for all the children in Reception and Year 1 to enjoy a small slice of pizza with their lunch too!
Thank you to the staff at Pizza Express in Eastbourne for such a warm welcome and a informative and enjoyable morning. Also, thank you to Year 2 for your impeccable behaviour. What was your favourite part of the day?
