Today, Year 6 spent the afternoon at the Abbey, watching a performance of a French play La Salle des Énigmes. The play was about an escape room with the theme of Tutankamun’s tomb and Howard Carter’s tent. I was very impressed by their enthusiasm during the play. The children were happy to call out the answers (in French!) to many of the riddles, especially those that involved numbers and colours. The actors were very entertaining and had the audience of Y6-Y9 fully captivated throughout. What did you enjoy, Year 6?
Wow! What an amazing start to the week! Our Science Ambassadors and Year 6, supported by Mr Baraclough, led assembly this morning and demonstrated some incredible science experiments. The whole school were captivated whilst the year sixes created volcanic eruptions, explosions and showed diffusion in action. Thank you for such an inspiring start to the week.
Year 2, Which was your favourite experiment?
This morning a very excited key stage 1 descended upon the RNLI station in Hastings. Upon arrival at 9:15am, the children climbed the stairs to the education room and watched and listened intently to Ken, hearing stories of rescues at sea and learning about what it means to be a RNLI volunteer. Ken then took us around the rest of the station and showed us the lifeboats and tractors. The children then had a drink and a snack and played in Pelham Place playground before we returned to school in time for lunch.
