Year 2’s Stop Motion Animation Movies

This week, inspired by the book Rumble in the Jungle, Year 2 created short movies. Thursday afternoon, the children made a jungle panorama for a back drop, created their fabulous jungle animals out of play dough and used the iPads to create a stop motion animation. On Friday morning, the children had great fun using iMovie to import their media and add sounds: music, special effects and a voice over. We hope you enjoy watching the short videos below.

Mice Chase

Safer Internet Day

Today year 2 celebrated Safer Internet Day. After we learned about internet safety, the children completed an inter-house quiz. The children were obviously listening carefully as all the houses received full marks! The children learned about how important it is to ask for help when they need it to protect themselves and their friends. They learned how to be safe, kind and caring internet users.

Creating Comic Strips in Maths and Computing

After much fun, Year 2 are proud to present their comic strips presenting real life mathematical problems. The children created their own mathematical stories and then organised the photos and comic layout that they would like. The children worked in pairs to use the comic life 3 ap on the iPads to create their comic strips.
I certainly do appear to have a class of superheroes!
Year 2, what was your favourite part of our superhero topic this half term?
