Wow- what an exciting few days! As many of you will know, our first chick (named Tigger by the Year 2s) hatched at 4:50pm on Tuesday. Four more chicks hatched yesterday: Caramel, Banana, Cheepy and Lemon. This morning we moved our new-borns into the brooder and they all seem pretty content! I have posted the videos below for you to enjoy. It makes me smile every time I watch them as I remember the excitement and happiness of the watching children. It makes it all so worthwhile!
The first one to start hatching is the Lavender Pekin.
The chicks have gone home to Tracie’s house for the weekend, but I have taken some of the webcam footage from today (Friday) and left it playing on the webcam channel. Those of you suffering chick watching withdrawal symptoms can still watch the chicks moving around and view the videos of Lemon Cookie hatching that I posted yesterday.
I will reinstate the webcam live feed when the chicks return to school after the weekend. 🙂
I thought you might like these adorable photos that I took as the chicks were leaving today. What a surprise to find a certain Year 6 in my room again!
