Two weeks ago, Year 2 started forest school. On 4th November, we drove to Battle and went down to the woods down the road from the Abbey for a scavenger hunt for signs of autumn. This Monday we used the Abbey’s grounds to create some artwork out of natural materials.
We were blessed with absolutely beautiful autumnal weather last week for our English lesson at Manor Barn. Year 2 walked across the footbridge (waving at the cars as we went) to the stunning gardens. We were thinking autumnal thoughts and collecting nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs for the children’s poems about Autumn. The children were impeccably well behaved and worked really hard for the hour we were out and came back to school brimming with ideas for their poems. We hope that you enjoy reading our poems as much as we enjoyed writing them!
Yesterday, Year 2 learned about Stop Motion Animation and spent their computer science lesson using the Animate IT app to create short video clips. They then imported their work into iMovie and added sounds to create a short movie. The children really enjoyed experimenting with the apps and developed a good understanding of stop motion animation.
