Inventing a Chocolate Bar on Roald Dahl Day

Year 2 chose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as our focus on Roald Dahl Day last Friday. Of course, it was the chocolate that they were interested in! Year 2 became scientists for the day and designed and made their own chocolate lolly. After deciding which ingredients they would like, the children measured and mixed their recipe and left it to set in the fridge. The classroom smelled delicious all day (I think the melted chocolate and peppermint oil were the pervasive scents).

  1. Goodness your tummies must have been rumbling with all the delicious smells coming out of your classroom this week, the rest of the school must have been very jealous .
I wonder what you chose to put in your lolly?

  2. I wish I was in Mrs Golding’s class getting to make chocolate lollies like these! Sadly, I didn’t even get to taste the one that came home – it was gobbled up in the car within minutes! It did smell nice and minty though 🙂
Well done everyone on your delicious concoctions – Willy Wonka would be proud!
