Trip to St. Peters Church

Key Stage One had a lovely time visiting St. Peters Church this afternoon. The children learned all about baptism, the various church services, traditions and the history of the building. The children thoroughly enjoyed the hands on activities, such as folding paper crosses and letting them float and open up in the font! The children also particularly enjoyed looking at the art work, stained-glass windows and hearing of the biblical stories surrounding them. Thank you to everyone at St Peter’s church for such a warm welcome and a very informative afternoon.

  1. We have a big baptism altar at St. Mary’s Church in Battle similar to the one at St. Peters. The big alters were used to dip whole babies in cold water! No wonder they cried!
