A Visitor from the Fire Station

total Votes: 1

This afternoon, we had a visit from Elaine from the Bexhill Fire Station. Elaine discussed fire safety and other hazards that the children may meet on a daily basis, such as hot water, cycling and crossing roads. Year 2 learned all about the Fire Service and types of rescues that they are involved in. The children were surprised that the Fire Service rescue people from the water too, especially inland from lakes and rivers. Year 2 were very keen to ask and answer questions and thoroughly enjoyed playing hazards bingo and completing the other interactive activities! The children gave some very sensible suggestions as Elaine discussed fire exit strategies for school and home. Thank you for a very informative and interesting session, Elaine. Year 2, what did you learn today?
